What devices does Alive Yogi work on?
Devices that you have access to the internet on – laptop, iPhone, iPad, and you can connect some devices to the TV too via a HDMI cable. This means that you can stream us direct to your TV! If you have a smart TV you can login to your account in your TV internet browser. If you have WIFI, you have Alive Yogi.
What do I need to practice yoga? How should I set up my space?
You really just need you, a device and your WIFI. After that, a yoga mat and a space to roll it out is best. If you can create your own yoga space, away from distractions that’s great, but we know that’s not always possible, so wherever you can find a space, go for it. Your bedroom, the living room, or out on a veranda, are all great options. For some classes a block or strap will be required. Your teacher will let you know at the beginning of each class. If you don’t have these items, a cushion/pillow or belt/rope will also suffice.
I’ve never done yoga before. Is this suitable for me?
Absolutely. Yoga is suitable for everybody. You’ve just got to be willing to roll out your mat and give it a go. You will see we have different styles and different levels. If you’re new to yoga, we recommend starting with a ‘Gentle Flow’ class to begin. Our ‘Foundations/ Tutorial’ class is also very informative, so make sure you watch some of those classes too. Remember, one of the biggest no-no’s in yoga is judgement – so be kind on yourself – no one was ever born ready to do a handstand! Yoga is about the routine, the commitment to yourself and calming the mind and body. It is not a race or a contest.
We always recommend that you consult your doctor or trusted medical professional before trying yoga.
What styles of yoga does A Live Yogi offer?
Yoga is not a one size fits all and so we have an array of categories and ability levels to choose from. Our styles range from Foundations, Gentle and Yin to Kundalini, Meditation and Power. We also have Yoga with Kids classes and Inspirational interviews.
You can also choose a class based on a target area. These categories include back bends, flexibility, hamstring release, sport support and twisting, just to name a few! Browse the Class Guide and you are sure to find exactly what you are looking for, or challenge yourself to complete a Series.
What kind of yoga class is best for me?
All of our classes are designed to flex and strengthen both the body and the mind. We recommend trying all styles and seeing what feels right for you. You may find that the style of class you need varies day to day, depending on how you feel or what time of the day it is. Be open to try a variety and go with what feels right each day.
Who are the Alive Yogi teachers?

Can I practice yoga if I am pregnant?
Many people practice yoga while pregnant. We always recommend that you consult your doctor or trusted medical professional before trying yoga while pregnant, or soon after giving birth. Keep an eye out for our pre and postnatal classes coming soon. We recommend starting with Gentle classes if you are new to yoga, don’t push yourself beyond comfort and take as many breaks as needed.
Can I practice if I have an injury?
Many people use yoga for restorative purposes. We always recommend that you consult your doctor before using yoga with an injury or for recovery purposes. We recommend starting with Gentle classes if you are new to yoga, don’t push yourself beyond comfort and take as many breaks as needed.

Trouble shooting and technical help
I have a membership but can't seem to access any classes, what's going on?
There are two common reasons why this happens.
Firstly, check to make sure you are actually logged in. The system will log you out automatically if you haven’t been on for a while, or if you logged in on another device and are now trying to use another one. To login click the LOGIN button on the home screen.
If you are logged in and sill can’t access classes, you may not have finished your membership form, most commonly you have left the screen and not filled in credit card details. While this creates login details, it does not allow you access. To update your payment details or to finish a sign up, login, click My Account, click Subscriptions and follow the instructions.
If you are still having trouble, please Contact Us and we will check your account and help you out.
What if I cannot get a connection to the class?
Firstly, start by checking that your browser is up-to-date. We recommend using the latest Google Chrome browser. Check your WIFI signal? If it’s too weak, the connection may be lost. Try logging in and out or perhaps restarting your device? If the problem still persists, get in Contact with us and we can help you trouble shoot.
How come the sound is low?
The volume level may vary depending on the device and browser you are using. If you have access to external speakers, they may help boost the sound.
Why does the video keep freezing?
This is most likely your internet connection. If a class keeps dropping out it may be your internet connection or our video hosting platform. Can you watch videos on YouTube? If not, your internet connection may be experiencing issues. If you can successfully watch video on YouTube, then the problem may be with our video host. Try the tips above, or at a different time of day. If you’ve tried the tips above and still frequently experience streaming problems, please contact us.
