Yogi Breakfast
Ayurvedic cleansing day begins before dawn – Brahmamurhuta (Sanskrit for “The Godly hour”) – sacred time for yogis – peace, purity, calm pervades. Digestion is like the sun, low and slow. Lemon
with water is great to kickstart your digestion. Followed by this light and lovely breakfast. This one is a real crowd pleaser!
Serves 1
What’s in it:
● 8 almonds (soaked, peeled)
● 1 cup of soy milk, almond milk or rice milk
● 1 teaspoon honey
● pinch nutmeg
● pinch cinnamon
● pinch cardamom
● pinch turmeric
● pinch ginger (optional)
● 1 teaspoon ghee (optional)
How to make it:
Place the almonds in the bottom of a small pan. Pour the milk over and heat on low until milk is warm and bubbles just on the edge. Whisk in spices and remove from heat. Pour into a mug and allow it to cool before adding honey.
